About

Here is a collection of our most frequent questions regarding JLime and our machines. This one is specific regarding the Qi-Hardware Ben Nanonote.

Hardware Questions

  • Q. Is it possible to "brick" a Ben?
 A. Brick usually means flashing the chips incorrectly and due to that
making the device useless. The answer in short is NO.
You can always reflash even if the nanonote is empty (no bootloader/kernel/userland).
  • Q. I am getting alot of bad sector reports when flashing, is my ben broken?
 A. The usbboot program isnt perfect and sometimes it reports bad blocks
that suddenly dissapear. So dont trust it completely.
  • Q. When I try to flash it always fails, what should I do?
 A. That happens sometime, best approach is to do an fresh delete
and then try again. If that doesnt work try changing usb-ports
and/or reboot computer. Its unclear why this happens but it
    will be fixed later on.
  • Q. After flashing my Ben Nanonote it doesnt start anymore, is it broken?
 A. No, just repeat the process until it works.
