Short history of JLime
In late 2002 I received an HP Jornada 680 from one of my customers, I was working as an computer consultant at a time. They had bought it for their CEO but he never got round to use it. I was eager to get linux running on it and was sad to see that support was broken. There existed some 2.4 kernels out there but felt like a waste when 2.6 had stepped out of the door (about 2.6.9 I think). So I got in contact with the linux-sh maintainer and he helped me get the first boot going. Because I believed there was an interest me and another guy Hank Brustin created the jlime project to get stuff supported. My goal has been to create a working distribution for our jornadas and in the process learn kernel programming. /Kristoffer
